  • The Continuity Equation yields an AVA of 0.86 cm2, consistent with severe aortic stenosis.
  • An AVA below 1.0 cm2 meets the hemodynamic threshold for severe stenosis. Symptomatic severe AS or asymptomatic severe AS with LV dysfunction generally warrants valve replacement.
  • AVA should always be interpreted alongside mean gradient, peak jet velocity, and symptoms, as low-flow states can underestimate true gradient.
