How this calculator works

Enter a start date (or leave it as today), set the number of days (default 30), choose whether to add or subtract, and pick calendar days or business days. The result date is shown with its full weekday name, ISO week number, day-of-year, quarter, and a time-unit breakdown (hours and minutes). A comparison table at the bottom lets you see the result for 7, 14, 21, 30, 45, 60, 90, and 180 days all at once, in both calendar-day and business-day modes. All calculations run locally in your browser and update instantly as you type.

Calendar days vs business days

A calendar-day count is straightforward: every day in the sequence counts, including weekends. Thirty calendar days from Monday June 9 is Wednesday July 9, regardless of what falls in between. A business-day count skips Saturdays and Sundays, so the same 30 business days from Monday June 9 does not land until around July 18 or later depending on the year. The distinction matters for contract deadlines, payment terms (Net 30 in many jurisdictions means 30 calendar days), court filings, and employee notice periods, which often specify one type explicitly. Note that this tool does not skip public holidays, which vary by country and region. If a holiday falls in your window, add one day for each holiday manually.

Where 30-day deadlines appear

Thirty days is one of the most common deadline intervals in everyday life. In the United States, Net 30 invoice terms require payment within 30 calendar days of the invoice date. Many consumer protection laws, such as the right to cancel a gym membership or return a product, run for 30 days. The IRS gives taxpayers 30 days to respond to some notices. Rental agreements often require 30 days written notice before vacating. Insurance policies commonly allow a 30-day grace period for late premiums. Medical referrals and prescription refills are frequently valid for 30 days. Knowing the exact target date avoids last-minute scrambles and missed deadlines.

Time conversions for 30 days

Thirty calendar days equals exactly 720 hours, 43,200 minutes, or 2,592,000 seconds. These conversions are useful when working with software that counts time in one unit but a deadline is expressed in another. For example, session tokens and API rate limits are sometimes set in seconds, and knowing that 30 days is 2,592,000 seconds makes it easy to verify the configuration. The comparison table shows the same conversion for 7, 14, 21, 30, 45, 60, 90, and 180 days.

Frequently asked questions

What date is 30 days from today?

It depends on today's date. Set the "Start date" field to today (it defaults to today automatically) and the "Number of days" field to 30. The result shows the exact date, its weekday, week number, and day-of-year instantly.

What is 30 business days from today?

Switch the "Day type" selector to "Business days (Mon-Fri only)". Thirty business days typically span about 42 calendar days (six weeks of five working days each), so the result is roughly six calendar weeks later than your start date. The exact date depends on where the weekends fall.

What date was 30 days ago?

Switch the "Direction" selector to "Subtract (backward)". The calculator will subtract 30 days from the start date and show the past date, its weekday, and all the same details.

How many weeks is 30 days?

Thirty days equals 4 weeks and 2 days. In decimal form that is approximately 4.29 weeks. If you need exactly 4 full weeks, that is 28 days; for 5 full weeks, that is 35 days.

Does Net 30 mean 30 calendar days or business days?

Standard commercial practice in the United States treats Net 30 as 30 calendar days from the invoice date, not business days. However, individual contracts can specify otherwise. Always check the agreement; if it says "Net 30 business days" or "Net 30 working days", use the business-day mode here.

Does this calculator count public holidays?

No. The business-day mode skips Saturdays and Sundays but does not remove public holidays, which vary by country, state, and year. For a holiday-aware count, use the result from this tool and then add one day for each public holiday that falls within the span.

What is a day of year (ordinal date)?

The day-of-year number, also called the ordinal date, counts how many days have passed since January 1 of that year, including January 1 itself. January 1 is day 1, February 1 is day 32, and December 31 is day 365 (or 366 in a leap year). It is useful when comparing dates within a single year or when working with Julian date formats.
